We're Back!

After more than a year, we finally rehearsed together on 20 May. It felt quite different for lots of reasons, but it was so very good to be back playing as a group again.

One of the biggest differences was that everyone had to be spaced 2 metres apart with lots of rules to observe to ensure we kept each other safe.

Fortunately, Uplands has allowed us to use the new refectory which provides lots of room for social distancing, is well ventilated and best of all we get to play while enjoying amazing views across the fields.

After such a long break everyone was naturally a bit rusty and our lips didn’t work quite as well as they had done, but everyone is keen to get back to making a great sound together and looking forward to our first public performance on 4 July for the 21st Bewl 15 Race.

Rain or shine, that will be such a great moment for us all.

So if the lockdown has inspired you to take up a brass instrument or if you are interested in conducting, we’d love to hear from you. Email Denise Beedell on manager@wadhurstbrassband.co.uk for more details.

To book the band for your event, contact Graham Brant on engagements@wadhurstbrassband.co.uk.
