John Brant

It is with great sadness that John Brant, a much loved and very active supporter, player and officer of Wadhurst Brass Band, passed away on 2 July, just a month before his 90th birthday.

John was a huge part of the band for over 50 years, taking on the Band Treasurer role for many years and was a founding member of the ‘Band Supporters Club’, which helped to raise funds to build the band we all enjoy today and was a regular member of the Training Band (now known as L-Plate Brass).

He finally stepped down from the role of Treasurer just over a year ago but continued to take a keen interest in how the band was doing.

John leaves wife Jean, and children Graham and Pauline. He will be very much missed by us all.
