Introducing our new Musical Director

Following David Healy’s relocation to Buckinghamshire we’re pleased to introduce our new Musical Director, Mike West.

Mike is a trumpet and flugel player with over three decades experience as a freelance professional musician with a background in Big Bands and Swing Bands and has competed with top level names including Frank Renton, host of BBC2’s Listen to The Band. Based in East Kent, Mike is already working us hard at our Thursday rehearsals at Uplands to get us back to concert standard.

Having had such a long and unprecedented break, lips and fingers need a lot of practice, but under Mike’s expert guidance we’ll be back on form before very long.

Our first engagement is on Sunday 5 September, playing at the Victorian Cemetery in Woodbury Park, Tunbridge Wells. We’ve played there before and always enjoyed the amazing atmosphere and warm welcome.

For more information about forthcoming engagements visit www.wadhurstbrassband.org and our social media feeds @wadhurstbrassband.

If you are planning a special event and would like us to play for you, please contact Graham Brant on engagements@wadhurstbrassband.co.uk

And if you are interested in taking up a brass instrument and can read music, please email Denise Beedell on manager@wadhurstbrassband.co.uk for more details.
